THE GARDEN CONSERVANCY

The Garden Conservancy is a national, nonprofit organization founded in 1989 to preserve exceptional American gardens for the public's education and enjoyment.

Established over 20 years ago by volunteers who wanted to prepare women for re-entry into the workforce. The Women’s Resource Center is currently funded by grants from state and local groups through the generosity of individuals and businesses. For over 55 years, Cornell Cooperative Extension has helped residents find solutions to problems and improve quality of life. CCE offers programs, etc. on many issues, for example, economic vitality, waste reduction, water conservation, parenting, youth development, etc. CCE also sponsors many events, such as, 4H Fair.

The United Way of Putnam

The United Way of Putnam is a local, volunteer led organization. United Way works to nurture children, strengthen families, foster independence for seniors, promote health and wellness. United Way is proud to be celebrating 20 years in the community. Here are some examples of services: legal advice for women with family issues, child care, diabetic screening and education, recreation program for challenged youths and adults, assistance for the elderly.

For over 45 years, PARC, a state and federally funded, non- profit organization, has been serving people with developmental disabilities in Putnam County. PARC’s five main programs include: vocational rehabilitation, preschool and early intervention services, day treatment and day habilitation, clinic services, residential services. PARC thanks the Putnam Community for all their support over the years.
